EUCLID, Ohio — A beautiful sight emerged over the skies of Euclid as the community continues to mourn the loss of a hero.
On Wednesday morning, 3News' Kierra Cotton captured the moment when a rainbow appeared over the memorial for fallen Euclid police officer Jacob Derbin.
The bright symbol of hope comes hours after last night's candlelight vigil at the police department for the 23-year-old who was killed in the line of duty on Saturday.
On Thursday, May 16, another candlelight vigil will be held in honor of Derbin. The vigil will take place from 7:30-8:30 p.m. at Ralph P. Adams Football Stadium on East 71st Street in Cuyahoga Heights.
Below are pictures from the memorial site for Derbin, which is located at the Euclid Police Department on East 222nd Street.

Derbin died on Saturday night after responding to a call for aggravated menacing on East 211th Street. Upon arriving at the scene, officers went to check the back yard and were ambushed by gunfire from the suspect.
Officer Derbin was shot and died as a result of his injuries. Officers returned fire at the suspect, 24-year-old Deshawn Anthony Vaughn, but he fled the scene on foot. On Sunday, Vaughn was involved in an hours-long standoff in Shaker Heights, where he later died.
