Similar to the ones created in Washington D.C. and Brooklyn, Cincinnati will soon display a prominent Black Lives Matter mural on one of its city's streets.
The mural, which was unanimously approved by Cincinnati City Council, will be displayed on the street outside of City Hall. Reading "Black Lives Matter!" the mural will be constructed by 17 local black artists, with each being responsible for a letter or punctuation mark. Expected to last for five years and with the potential to be redone, the mural will be revealed at a 2 p.m. press conference on Friday.
A rendering of the privately funded mural can be seen below. A GoFundMe page has currently raised more than $103,000 for its $150,000 goal.
