PALMYRA, Ohio — Dozens of animals were rescued in Portage County on Friday as officials say rising waters from a nearby creek had put them in danger.
Officials with the Portage County Water Rescue Team posted a series of photos from the situation in Palmyra on Friday. They said quail, chickens, ducks and even a donkey were rescued from the frigid water.
They noted the water was up to the donkey's head when they arrived.
The water rescue team said this incident was their first call of the year.
