BROOKLYN, Ohio — A fire at the Hampton Inn in Brooklyn on Wednesday morning prompted an evacuation of the building.
The hotel, which is located at 10305 Cascade Crossing, was at full capacity and was scheduled to remain at full capacity throughout the weekend as Cleveland hosts NBA All-Star Weekend. As a result of the fire, a portion of the roof collapsed onto the fourth floor. No injuries were reported from the incident, but many guests have been unable to find open hotel rooms in the area.
The fire was difficult to get out due to high winds in the area. At one point, 19 different departments were fighting the fire, which was eventually subdued.
