CANTON, Ohio — At approximately 8 a.m. on Monday, Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers were called to a motor vehicle crash near the intersection of State Route 241 and U.S. 30 in Tuscarawas Township in Stark County.
Troopers say the driver of a 2020 Jeep Wrangler lost control on an ice-covered bridge over U.S. 30. The Jeep crossed left of center striking a 2020 Honda Fit head-on. The crash caused the Jeep to flip onto its side.
The driver of the Jeep, a 44-year-old female from Lawrence Township, Ohio was not hurt. The driver of the Honda Fit, 71-year-old Tien Le of Canton did not survive the crash.
Fire departments from Brewster and North Lawrence along with the Ohio Department of Transportation assisted with the crash investigation. State Route 241 was closed for about one hour.
The crash remains under investigation.
