STARK COUNTY, Ohio — The man who was arrested in connection with an Amber Alert situation earlier this month made his first court appearance in the case Monday morning.
During the brief arraignment hearing, the judge issued a $1 million bond for 36-year-old Jonathan Stinnett, who is charged with kidnapping and abduction.
His arraignment was slightly delayed as an official announced Stinnett was in quarantine.
Stinnett is due back in court for a preliminary hearing on Nov. 29 at 11 a.m.
His arrest happened hours after Ohio issued an Amber Alert for a 5-year-old girl on Friday, Nov. 12 when she was reported missing from Jackson Township. She was later found with Stinnett several states away in Illinois.
Stinnett was taken into custody without incident, and the girl was safely removed from the vehicle involved and taken into police protection.

When the girl went missing, authorities initially activated an Endangered Missing Child Alert. Police said they wanted to issue an Amber Alert, but that that didn’t happen for almost 24 hours.
3News’ Lydia Esparra previously reported that Ohio State Highway Patrol Watch Desk issues the Amber Alert. Lt. Nathan Dennis says there are certain parameters to issue one -- including evidence of an immediate threat injury or loss of child. He noted they issued a missing child and endangered child, which is a step down from an Amber Alert.
