SUMMIT COUNTY, Ohio — A 64-year-old motorcyclist is in serious condition after a two-vehicle crash in Springfield Township Tuesday afternoon.
At approximately 2 p.m., a Harley Davidson motorcycle failed to yield at a stop sign while attempting to turn eastbound onto US 224 from Shadybrook Road. The motorcycle crashed into the left side of a Chevy Silverado that was traveling eastbound on US 224 as a result.
The motorcyclist, identified as Michael Prohm of Akron, was taken from the scene to Akron General Hospital with serious injuries to his head.
Prohm is currently listed in serious condition by Akron General. Prohm was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The driver of the Silverado, identified as 54-year-old Timothy Pierce of Mogadore, did not sustain any injuries as a result of the incident.
The crash remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
