STOW, Ohio — There was a traffic alert for drivers who planned to take State Route 8 Southbound in Summit County on Friday morning.
Drivers were being asked to avoid the area near Stow after a fatal crash shut down a stretch of State Route 8.
According to the Ohio Department of Transportation, State Route 8 Southbound was closed between East Steels Corners Road and Graham Road after a tanker truck carrying gasoline overturned and caught fire overnight.
As of 9 a.m., the Stow Police Department and ODOT said crews are still cleaning up but the left lane is open.
Drivers are being advised to avoid the area if possible.
3News' Danielle Wiggins advised drivers heading from Cuyahoga County to Summit County to take I-77 Southbound instead.
