The Lakewood Police Department on Tuesday announced the arrest of a 22-year-old woman in connection to the May 2 homicide of Shontell Rose, a 44-year-old who was found fatally shot in the head in an apartment complex on Elmwood Avenue.
According to officials, Wilmarie A. Ford, 22, was taken into custody and charged with Aggravated Murder Tuesday. Her first appearance in court has not been scheduled yet.
Lakewood police also have an arrest warrant for Bruce E. Ford, 23, who has been charged with Aggravated Murder, but is not in custody at this time.
The suspects’ roles in the murder remain under investigation, but police believe both suspects knew the victim.
The incident happened around midnight on May 2 when police officers were called to Mr. Rose's residence for an altercation between the Rose and a female related to Mr. Ford. Hours later, police were called back to 2004 Elmwood for reports of shots fired and found Mr. Rose deceased.
