‘I stopped breathing for a while’: Ohio Lottery player wins $19.4 million jackpot in Classic Lotto drawing

REYNOLDSBURG, Ohio — One very lucky Ohio Lottery player is now a multimillionaire after winning a Classic Lotto jackpot worth $19,421,370 in the Nov. 27 drawing.

“I always play my kids birthdays, and I always play a couple random draws,” the winner, who whose name was not revealed, said in a press release from the Ohio Lottery. “It was one of the random draws that hit.”

Those winning numbers were 1, 5, 15, 34, 37 and 40.

“I stopped breathing for a while,” she said upon checking the numbers on Thanksgiving. “I sat there and held my breath for a very long time. It was quite a shock.”

She chose to take the annuity prize, which means she will receive her prize money in payments over 30 years, according to the Ohio Lottery. The winner said she plans to use that money to pay bills, move from an apartment to a house and take care of her kids.

Her winning ticket was purchased at Winners Corner at 2036 Baltimore-Reynoldsburg Road in Reynoldsburg, which is just east of the Columbus area.

The Ohio Lottery says the odds of winning the Classic Lotto jackpot are one in 13,983,816.

Classic Lotto drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 7:05 p.m. Pools close at 7 p.m.
