CLEVELAND — On Tuesday's 3New Now with Stephanie Haney, the top headlines include President Donald Trump's six-page letter to Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi protesting impeachment, and the hundreds of events taking place across the country in support of impeachment of Trump.
On December 13, the House Judiciary Committee voted to recommend Trump be formally charged with two articles of impeachment: abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.
The charges are related to a phone call that took place on July 25 where Trump is accused of pressuring the president of Ukraine to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden by withholding military aide needed to fend off Russian aggression, and the Trump administration's refusal to comply with subpoenas issued during the House's impeachment inquiry.
Trump has denied any wrongdoing throughout this process, calling over Twitter on December 5 for a speedy impeachment so he "can have a fair trial in the Senate."
