Northeast Ohio is home a large Ukrainian population, with thousands of people worried for their loved ones back home in Eastern Europe.
For as much hardship as Russia's invasion has caused, it has also led to an outpouring of support across the globe. Greater Cleveland is no exception, as scores of local organizations have lined up to offer their help to the efforts of those both fighting on the front lines and grieving miles away.
WKYC Studios has put together a list of area restaurants, businesses, and charities who have pledged to give at least a portion of proceeds to the people of Ukraine.
Cleveland Maidan Association
Originally established during the 2014 Maidan Revolution in Ukraine, the organization has set up multiple links for donations, pledging to give 100% of proceeds to humanitarian aid.
Elle Restaurant & Lounge - Solon
The restaurant will host a charity brunch on March 13 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. All proceeds "will be sent to support [Ukrainian] women in this difficult wartime," and each plate is $25 per person.
Forest City Brewery - Cleveland
The Tremont staple is serving "Slava Ukraini" beer to help raise awareness for the country's refugees. For every pint sold, $1 will be donated to the Ukrainian Red Cross, and similar arrangements are also in place for the Furbelly Irish Stout, pierogis, and Beer 101 event tickets.
Larder Delicatessen and Bakery - Cleveland
Proceeds from the sale of the Deli's black and white Ukrainian cookie as part of Hamantashen for Ukraine will go to Polish Humanitarian Action to assist with refugee efforts.
Medina County Democratic Party
The organization will be accepting donations of essential items that will be taken to refugees at the Polish border via MedWish International. Supplies must be dropped off at party headquarters on West Homestead Street by March 16.
MedWish International
Speaking of MedWish, they'll be hosting their own drive-up supply drive on March 12 and 13 in Highland Hills. Partnering with Medworks, donations will be accepted both days from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at the University Hospitals customer service center on Harvard Avenue.
Pokrova Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church - Parma
The church has been the site of several rallies and protests since the invasion began, and is now accepting supply donations on weekdays, particularly for children's medicine.
Prama Artspace
All proceeds from the gallery's postcard and greeting card sales on March 12 will go to the PLAST Ukrainian Scouting Organization.
Roosevelt Veteran's Post 58 - Cleveland
On March 9, the Tremont post will host a "Pierogi for Peace" event for $25 a meal. All proceeds will go directly to Razom for Ukraine.
Rudy's Strudel & Bakery - Parma
All net proceeds from sales on March 12 will go to the PLAST Ukrainian Scouting Organization.
