OHIO, USA — Fall has settled in here in Northeast Ohio and it's the perfect time to explore new places while the weather is still nice. What better way to do that than to grab some family or friends and head out to one of Northeast Ohio's many apple orchards and pumpkin patches.
Emily Mayfield recently did just that. First, she headed out to Lorain County to visit Hillcrest Orchards, an apple orchard located near Amherst.
This weekend and next weekend, you can head out to pick your own apples at Hillcrest Orchards. They have Evercrisp, Ludacrisp, Sweet Zinger, Melrose and Winesap varieties to pick. Families can also pick pumpkins there. There is also go kart racing, a barrel train, a corn maze and more for families to enjoy.
Hillcrest Orchards also has a farm market where visitors can buy a large variety of items, including apples, of course. There are also gourds, pumpkins and fall decorations to choose from, as well as cider and some other produce.
The fall festival fun happens on weekends at Hillcrest Orchards, and tickets are available on the orchards' website for a discounted rate, and also in person at the orchard itself.
From apple picking to picking the perfect pumpkin straight from the patch, Emily then headed to Pickering Hill Farms for more fall fun.
Pickering Hill Farms, located in Avon, also features a farm market with fresh produce, meats and cheeses, as well as pumpkins of all sizes, gourds, squash, corn stalks and more to make your front porch fall perfect.
The family fun doesn't stop there. There is also a corn maze to enjoy, and families can take a hayride and pick their own pumpkin straight from the patch.
Tickets for the corn maze are available in-person at Pickering Hill Farms, and pumpkins picked from the patch are sold by weight.
