CLEVELAND — Alright folks — this is where things really start to get fun.
We have reached the regional semifinals of the OHSAA football playoffs, and 35 Northeast Ohio high schools remain alive in the state's seven divisions. There weren't nearly as many upsets in Week 12, with perennial powerhouses like St. Edward, Massillon Washington, and Glenville easily moving on.
However, there is always room for Cinderella stories, and this year it comes in the form of two 13-seeds. In Division IV, Indian Valley smashed Bishop Ready 34-13 on the strength of three more Grady Kinsey touchdowns, while down in D-VII St. Paul held off Malvern 20-14 after Josh Pocos tallied 149 total yards and two scores. The Braves will next face top-seeded Steubenville in Region 15, while the Flyers will battle No. 1 Dalton in Region 25.
Besides those games, WKYC has compiled another list of all the matchups involving teams in our viewing area this Friday night. Starting this round and throughout the rest of the postseason, the games will be played at neutral sites across Ohio.
