CLEVELAND — It's the end of an era for one of Cleveland's most well-known institutions. For 40 years, St. Ignatius coach Chuck Kyle has taken the Wildcats football team to 11 state titles, two national championships and countless other accolades.
Tomorrow -- Friday, Oct. 21 -- is the last regular season game of his career as coach Kyle retires from his legendary role.
And once again, 3News' Maureen Kyle -- his daughter -- will be sitting in the stands, cheering him on. Thursday morning on GO!, she shared a special look back on what he taught his children as a father as they were along for the entire ride.
Watch the video in the player above to see how Maureen addresses her dad about the life lessons he instilled, which include dedication, sportsmanship and humor.
In honor of coach Kyle's last game, 3News will have full coverage throughout the day on Friday -- including an exclusive one-on-one interview with Jim Donovan.
Coach Kyle had announced his plans to retire at the end of the 2022 football season back in December of 2021.
Thanks for all the memories, coach.
