CLEVELAND — We were all bracing for it. We all expected it. But that doesn't make it any less exciting.
After a flurry of moves elsewhere to open the free agency period of the 2024 offseason, the Cleveland Cavaliers left their fans hanging in the wind as Donovan Mitchell's decision to sign the extension or test free agency loomed large over the franchise's future.
After two and a half days of nervous laughing and self-reassuring conversations, well, we'll let the man himself say it:
As he usually does, NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski announced the extension we've all been waiting for on Tuesday afternoon.
And as usual, the reaction on social media to Donovan Mitchell's decision to lock up a deal in Cleveland did not disappoint.
