PEPPER PIKE, Ohio — North Canton native Annie Roshak scored 25 points and Perry Township's Karlee Pireu added a double-double as No. 1 Ashland easily dispatched Ursuline 74-57 Saturday afternoon.
The Eagles (17-1, 12-0 G-MAC) dominated 44-23 on the boards to pick up their 14th straight win. Pireu had a game-high 10 rebounds while Roshak added eight, and in the end AU never trailed once.
Cornerstone Christian Academy grad Michaela Cloonan led the Arrows (8-11, 5-9) with 15 points and five boards. Besides the rebounding gap, UC also shot just 39% from the field.
Virtually assured of hanging on to their top ranking in Division II come Monday, Ashland will host Trevecca Nazarene that afternoon. Ursuline will get a few days off before heading over to Ashland on Wednesday for a rematch.
