CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Browns don't know yet who their head coach will be in 2020.
They do, however, know, who they'll be playing.
With the 2019 NFL season in the books, the Browns now know which 13 teams will comprise their 16-game schedule in 2020, as well as where those games will be played. In addition to its annual home-and-road matchups against its three AFC North rivals, Cleveland will face each team in the AFC South and NFC East, as well as the two third-place teams in the AFC East and AFC West.
As a result, the Browns' 2020 schedule will be made up by the following opponents:
Home
- Indianapolis Colts
- Philadelphia Eagles
- Oakland Raiders
- Washington Redskins
- Houston Texans
- Cincinnati Bengals
- Baltimore Ravens
- Pittsburgh Steelers
Road
- Dallas Cowboys
- New York Giants
- Jacksonville Jaguars
- New York Jets
- Tennessee Titans
- Cincinnati Bengals
- Baltimore Ravens
- Pittsburgh Steelers
While the Browns' actual schedule won't be unveiled until April, a few matchups already stand out as appointment viewing. Should he remain in Cleveland, the Browns' road contest against the New York Giants will mark Odell Beckham Jr.'s first game against his former team. Meanwhile, a road game against the Dallas Cowboys means that Cleveland -- which despite its 6-10 record, will still have plenty of national appeal -- could be playing on Thanksgiving Day for the first time since the Browns faced the Detroit Lions in 1989.
It's also worth noting that the Browns will be facing the New York Jets for the sixth straight season and in East Rutherford, New Jersey, for the second straight year. And while Cleveland likely won't find itself featured nationally as often as it was in 2019, opponents like the Philadelphia Eagles and the Houston Texans stand out as potential primetime opponents.
