'The phones have been ringing off the hook': Demand for new Cleveland Browns playoff gear keeps area businesses busy

As fans get ready to cheer on the Browns in the Wild Card playoff game Saturday, many are also racing to get their hands on the newest playoff gear.

CLEVELAND — Three businesses have been kept busy as fans flock to stores to get their hands on the latest gear to support the Browns in the playoffs this coming Saturday. The teams at Where I’m From, GV Art + Design, and Cleveland Clothing Company tell 3News fans have been reaching out requesting playoff gear, and it’s been in high demand.

At GV Art + Design, owner Greg Vlosich said they had two playoff shirts ready to go as soon as the team clinched, which have been getting an “awesome response.” He also pointed out their ‘Flacco ‘Round and Find Out’ shirt, a design that he said was so requested by customers that they had to create it.

In his Lakewood location, Vlosich pointed out the sweatshirt he himself was wearing, a design of theirs that he said sold out in less than 20 minutes online when they released it a few days ago.

“We’ve been restocking like crazy,” Vlosich said. “Our printers have been dropping off 30 boxes a day for the last couple weeks just kind of preparing for it.”

Cleveland Clothing Company has also had customers reach out asking about playoff gear, according to owner and founder Mike Kubinski.

“People have been calling, the phones have been ringing off the hook at the stores. Emails and social media, like ‘are you guys coming out with gear?’” Kubinski said. “We’ve been working our butts off and trying to get things done and get things printed so we can get behind the excitement.”

3News was in their downtown Cleveland location as Kubinski brought in boxes of four new shirts designed specifically for the playoffs, which his team immediately began tagging and displaying in the store. One of those designs reads ‘One City, One Team, One Dream.’

At their Crocker Park location Wednesday morning, customers came in seeking out specific Joe Flacco merchandise, which Where I’m From is creating through a partnership directly with Flacco’s team.

“Once Joe Flacco came onto the scene, we were kind of intrigued, we were like ‘Joe Flacco in Cleveland?’” said Brandon Wardle, director of marketing for Where I’m From. “We got connected with his people, and a partnership came together quickly, and low and behold, here we are and we’ve got officially licensed Joe Flacco apparel.”

Wardle said Where I’m From is the only company carrying officially licensed Flacco apparel in the country. One of their best selling Flacco sweatshirt is one that reads ‘Flacco fan since ’23.’

Each of these businesses have multiple brick and mortar locations where customers can purchase gear, or they can order online.
