CLEVELAND — After arriving at Empower Field at Mile High on Sunday with his traditional beard, Baker Mayfield shaved his facial hair down to a Fu Manchu mustache before opting for a less handlebar-like look following the Cleveland Browns' 24-19 loss to the Denver Broncos.
So when it comes to what type of facial hair Mayfield will don on Sunday when the Browns host the Buffalo Bills, it's truly anybody's guess.
But despite Mayfield's unpredictability with a razor, betting site Bovada has taken its best shot at forecasting what type of beard and/or mustache Mayfield will be wearing this weekend. On Wednesday, the website released odds for which style of facial hair Mayfield will wear vs. the Bills with "mustache only" being a -120 favorite, followed by clean shaven (+120), full beard (+550) and horseshoe mustache (+550).
For the betting uninitiated, one would have to wager $120 to profit $100 on a successful bet on "Mustache only," while a winning $100 bet on clean-shaven would return $120.
For what it's worth, despite the memes it launched following his postgame press conference, Mayfield was still wearing a traditional mustache at the Browns team facility in Berea on Wednesday. Asked why he shaved down from the handlebar mustache he wore during the game, the 2018 No. 1 overall pick made it clear he didn't feel worthy of such distinction.
"I shaved it off because I didn't deserve it," Mayfield told reporters.
