And by the time he arrived for his postgame press conference, the second-year signal-caller had shaved his mustache down to a more traditional, less-handlebar-like look.
As one might expect, social media took note of Mayfield's mid-day facial hair transformation, turning images from his postgame press conference into a meme. And the 24-year-old's deflated demeanor following the Browns' 24-19 loss didn't help matters, as it became easy for many to contrast Mayfield's appearance on Sunday to just a year ago.
