Through the first two weeks of the 2019 season, Odell Beckham Jr. has made headlines with the Richard Mille watches he's been wearing.
But when it came time to ink an endorsement deal for wrist wear, the Cleveland Browns star wide receiver opted for a different brand.
Just two days after Beckham wore what appeared to be a $2 million Richard Mille model during pregame warmups on Monday Night Football, Swedish watchmaker Daniel Wellington announced a partnership with the 3-time Pro Bowl selection.
Beckham appeared to hint at his new partnership following the Browns' 23-3 victory over the New York Jets on Monday night when he made reference to the brand when asked about his pregame wrist-wear.
“I think Daniel Wellington might be a better watch than these, a little classier, not as flashy as this one," Beckham said while wearing what appeared to be a Richard Mille 56-02 Tourbillon Sapphire, of which only 10 were made. "I’m just blessed.”
While the cost of the watches Beckham has been wearing—he wore a $190,000 Richard Mille model during the Browns' Week 1 loss to the Tennessee Titans—has created a buzz, Daniel Wellington appears to offer more affordable models. The majority of the pieces listed on the company's website run for less than $200.
In addition to Daniel Wellington, Beckham's endorsement profile includes a record-breaking deal with Nike, which is reportedly valued at $29 million over five years.
