On Monday night, Odell Beckham Jr. returned to the stadium he called home for the first five years of his NFL career.
And it didn't take long for the Cleveland Browns star wide receiver to remind the Tri-state area what makes him so special.
Three and a half minutes into the Browns' Monday Night Football matchup vs. the New York Jets, Cleveland found itself facing a 2nd-and-12 from its opponent's 37-yard line. After dropping back, quarterback Baker Mayfield locked in on Beckham, who proceeded to make a 1-handed grab over Jets cornerback Nate Hairston, taking the ball to the Jets 4-yard line.
Unfortunately for Cleveland, the Browns were unable to convert the advantageous field position into a touchdown -- in part because Beckham was forced to be removed from the game. According to the television broadcast, the refs told the 3-time Pro Bowl selection that he wasn't allowed to wear the tinted visor that had been attached to his helmet, which resulted in his facemask being unscrewed to attach another visor.
With the Browns unable to punch the ball into the end zone, Cleveland was forced to settle for a 23-yard Austin Seibert field goal and a 3-0 lead. Those points may not have been possible without the big play by Beckham, who made a name for himself as one of the most dynamic players in football during five seasons with the New York Giants, prior to being traded to Cleveland last March.
