GLENDALE, Ariz. — Super Bowl LVII is already making history as Travis and Jason Kelce become the first brothers to ever face off in the big game, which is set for Sunday, Feb. 12 at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
With so much attention being placed on the so-called "Kelce Bowl" between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs, Jason took a moment to shine the spotlight on his Northeast Ohio roots while discussing his youth in Cleveland Heights.
“Cleveland Heights is such a beautifully unique area,” the Eagles center said during the Super Bowl Opening Night on Monday. “It’s got incredible diversity of culture, incredible diversity of income. You kind of get a great grasp of a lot of different things in this country growing up there. We were truly blessed to go there, to go to school at Cleveland Heights High School. We loved growing up in the Heights.”
Travis, meanwhile, discussed their mom’s epic rise to football fame.
“You can’t tell my mom anything right now,” Travis said of his mother, Donna. “She’s an absolute superstar. I just appreciate everybody jumping on the train and letting her have as much fun as she’s been having because it’s been cool to see her in that light.”
With Donna becoming such a central focal point of the Super Bowl, a Change.org petition had been launched with more than 168,000 signatures as of 9:45 a.m. Tuesday calling for her to do the coin toss. Despite the petition's plea, it was announced that four Pat Tillman Foundation Scholars will serve as the honorary coin toss captains at the big game.
