Olmsted Falls native Katie Moon advances to women's pole vault final at 2024 Paris Olympics: Set to compete for another gold medal Wednesday

Moon won a gold medal during the Tokyo Olympics after topping the bar at 4.9m.

PARIS, France — She's back!

Ohio native Katie Moon of Olmsted Falls will be defending her pole vault gold medal in the 2024 Paris Olympics as she has now advanced to the final after Monday's qualifying round.

Moon is among 20 athletes moving on to the final, which will take place Wednesday at 12:15 p.m. ET.

Moon, 33, who also attended Ashland University, is in the Summer Games for the second time after winning gold in Tokyo back in 2021.

A watch party for Wednesday's final is planned for Suds Maguires in Berea.

"This is everything I've ever dreamed of and ever wanted," she told 3News after winning gold in Tokyo. "I could not feel luckier, more blessed. I feel just ecstatic."
