BROOK PARK, Ohio — The Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a devastating car accident on 1-71 and I-480 Saturday morning that took the life of a 35-year-old Cleveland man.
Officials say that they believe the car had attempted to negotiate a curve, but failed, and ended up veering to the right and hitting a guardrail. The vehicle overturned and went into an embankment.
Cleveland Division of Police, Cleveland Fire, Cleveland EMS, Brook Park Police, and Brook Park Fire are among the groups dispatched to the scene. The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner also arrived at the scene and pronounced the victim as deceased.
Officials believe that alcohol may have been involved.
As of 5:30 a.m. Saturday morning, I-480 has been reopened.
