OLMSTED FALLS, Ohio — The Ohio Turnpike says it has completed emergency bridge work in Olmsted Falls this afternoon.
At 3:18 p.m., turnpike officials posted the following on its social media platforms: "ALL LANES HAVE RE-OPENED across an Ohio Turnpike bridge at milepost 157.4 in Olmsted Falls (Cuyahoga County). The bridge repair was completed. Thank you for your continued support and patience!"
Earlier in the day, the turnpike put out a traffic alert in Cuyahoga County that impacted holiday travels. At 12:04 p.m., officials announced the westbound right and center lanes on the Rocky River Bridge at milepost 157.4 in Olmsted Falls would be closed this afternoon for emergency bridge deck repairs in the center lane.
The closure was expected to last until approximately 4 p.m. with traffic delays and backups expected.
Westbound traffic traveling through this area should consider exiting at Toll Plaza 161 (Strongsville), taking I-71 north to I-480 westbound and re-entering the Ohio Turnpike at Toll Plaza 151 (North Ridgeville) or Toll Plaza 152 (North Olmsted).
