STARK COUNTY, Ohio — A 49-year-old Navarre man has died following a one-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon in Stark County’s Sugar Creek Township.
Authorities with the Ohio State Highway Patrol say the crash took place around 1:14 p.m. on Justus Avenue near Dolphin Street when a 2003 Chevrolet Suburban traveled left of center before going off the left side of the roadway. Authorities say the driver “over corrected” and the vehicle then traveled off the right side of the roadway before rolling over several times.
The driver, identified as Benjamin Walters, was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities say Walters was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash.
“Alcohol use is suspected to be a factor in the crash,” according to a press release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The crash remains under investigation.
No additional details were immediately available.
