MEDINA COUNTY, Ohio — A man has died after a two-vehicle crash on State Route (SR) 18 in Medina County on Tuesday morning.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP), the crash occurred at around 11:30 a.m. in Medina Township. A Kia vehicle traveling east on SR 18 attempted to turn left onto Victor Drive when a motorcyclist traveling west struck the Kia.
The driver of the motorcycle, 47-year-old David Nalesnik of Brunswick, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The driver of the Kia, 84-year-old Margaret Carey of Medina, was transported to Cleveland Clinic Medina Hospital by the Medina Life Support Team.
Carey suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the crash, which closed a portion of SR 18 for approximately two hours.
Troopers say Nalesnik was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. They add that drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor at this time.
The incident remains under investigation.
