CLEVELAND — After a heavy dose of severe overnight storms in Northeast Ohio, the National Weather Service team will survey the damage.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, The National Weather Service in Cleveland announced on Friday morning that they will be sending out two survey teams to assess the damage from last night's storms.
"Exact locations and timing are uncertain at this point due to extensive damage across the area," said NWS Cleveland officials on Twitter.
They have since confirmed an EF-1 tornado did in fact happen in Cleveland.
When surveying storm damage, the National Weather Service uses a 6-step process to verify storm damage. The extensive process, which can be viewed below, can take some time, according to NWS Cleveland.

The storms on Thursday night into Friday morning left thousands without power across Northeast Ohio. 3News is tracking power outages by county HERE. The storms left extensive damage, including a partial roof collapse at a church in Cleveland, as well as immense damage to multiple buildings in Warrensville Heights.
