CLEVELAND — As we track our first snow of the season, strong winds are expected to impact Northeast Ohio today with gusts approaching 40 mph at times -- and the National Weather Service in Cleveland says it could result in some power outages.
“That wind is going to ramp up as we go throughout the afternoon,” says 3News’ senior meteorologist Matt Wintz.
That’s why the National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for several counties, which are in effect as follows:
WIND ADVISORY
In effect from 3 p.m. Wednesday until midnight
- Ashtabula
- Cuyahoga
- Geauga
- Lake
- Lorain
“Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles,” according to the National Weather Service.
It comes as we have also activated a Weather Impact Alert for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday due to the windy conditions, dropping temps and snow.
