SANDUSKY, Ohio — Lights! Camera! Action!
An undisclosed feature film is currently in production in Sandusky -- and the city has put out an alert to notify residents of impacts involving the closure of West Perkins Avenue.
The roadway will be closed for the movie between Camp Street and Old Railroad Road during the following days and times:
- Tuesday, June 4: 7 a.m. – 8 p.m.
- Wednesday, June 5: 7 a.m. – 8 p.m.
- Monday, June 10: 7 a.m. – 8 p.m.
- Tuesday, June 11: 7 a.m. – 8 p.m.
“The road closures will be in effect to ensure the safety of both the film crew and the public,” according to the city of Sandusky’s site. “Detour signs will be posted to guide drivers to alternate routes.”
The detour will route traffic to Strub Road via Hayes Avenue and Old Railroad Road.
“Barricades will be placed at access points to W. Perkins Ave. and staffed by police officers and other security personnel,” according to the city. “Local traffic to/from residential streets and businesses in the closure area will be able to request access at the security checkpoints. This may involve waiting for a few minutes until it is safe to proceed.”
The city is also asking pedestrians “to steer clear” of Perkins avenue during the listed times “for everyone’s safety.”
City officials did not provide information regarding what movie is in production.
