CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo announced the death of a black rhino that has been a staple at the zoo since the late 1990s.
The 31-year-old rhino named "Inge" came to the zoo in 1997. Up until her death, she was among the top five oldest female black rhinos in the world and one of only 58 black rhinos in the country.
Her incredible legacy at the zoo includes birthing five black rhino calves, being a grandmother to seven and a great-grandmother to one.
The zoo announced her passing on their Facebook account on Sunday morning. The post can be seen below.
