CLEVELAND — Kids love coming up with different characters when they draw. Some have swirls for eyes, others have pig noses. And lately, the only time they sit still is when they are coloring.
So, to expand their creative little minds, I had them make funny face flip books.
First, I cut several sheets of plain white paper into thirds. This will be the sections for eyes, noses and mouths.
Then I sandwiched them between two full sheets of paper. These will act as the books covers to keep all the pieces inside a “book."
If you have a three-hole puncher, punch a hole through the full sheets and the cut up sheets of the three sections.
Who doesn’t have key chains laying around the house? Now let’s put those rings to use. Find three key rings and use them to hold together each of the three holes.
Once your book is assembled, the kids can start coloring!
My 6 year old decided to draw a cohesive face on each “page” first. I told her she also had the option of just drawing a bunch of eyes, then moving onto the nose section and finally the mouth. But either way will create some hilarious combinations.
Once she was done, they got such a kick out of mixing up the faces. It was such a simple activity to throw together!
