CLEVELAND — Two teenagers were shot, including one who was killed, in Cleveland's Fairfax neighborhood on Friday morning.
According to Cleveland Police, officers responded to the area of 8000 Golden Avenue at approximately 1:20 a.m. for shots fired. Upon arrival, officers located a 17-year-old male with a gunshot to his leg at East 79th Street and Quincy Avenue. The male victim was transported to University Hospital for treatment.
A 19-year-old male was located slumped in a Toyota behind 7922 Golden Avenue. The 19-year-old was also conveyed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The matter is being investigated as a homicide, with multiple interviews having been conducted on scene. A preliminary investigation indicates that the victims were with a group of teens in the area and were getting into the Toyota when they were shot by the suspects. No arrests have been made at this time and detectives continue to investigate.
