AKRON, Ohio — The Akron Police Department is searching for a person of interest in an armed robbery that took place outside of the Circle K on Darrow Road on Friday morning.
Officers responded to the robbery call around 10:23 a.m. with a 35-year-old man reporting that he had been robbed after leaving the Circle K in the 200 block of Darrow Road. The victim told police that he had just withdrawn a large sum of money from the ATM and exited the store when he was approached from behind by the suspect as he was walking westbound on Eastlawn Avenue, near Meade.
The victim said the suspect pointed a gun at him and demanded his money before fleeing the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
Detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying a subject who they consider a person of interest in the robbery. The alleged suspect was believed to be about 17-20 years old and approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall, wearing a black Kappa hooded sweatshirt and blue Crocs.
