Ashtabula County: Two shot after social media dispute

Police say the two men were engaged in a disagreement on Facebook.

ASHTABULA COUNTY, Ohio — EDITOR'S NOTE: The video in the player above is from a previous, unrelated story.

Ashtabula County Sheriff Department deputies were called to a home after two people were reportedly shot Tuesday afternoon.  

When deputies arrived at the home the 2700 block of Russell Road in Saybrook Township, they found two men had been shot. They also learned that two men had engaged in a dispute on a social media website. 

One of the males involved reportedly drove to the Russell Road home of the other male and fired two rounds toward the house, striking a woman in the leg. The bullets also hit the house.

The male, who was in the house, fired six rounds at the suspect's vehicle, striking his car at least five times as well as hitting the male occupant that had been inside the vehicle.

The Saybrook Township Fire Department transported both of the men to the Ashtabula County Medical Center, where they were treated for gunshot wounds.

A spokesperson for the Ashtabula County Sheriff's Department said both men are expected to recover.

The Ashtabula County Sheriff's Department is still investigating.
