CLEVELAND — It's been a violent couple of days in Cleveland with five homicides reported over a 36-hour period, including the fatal shooting of a 16-year-old boy and a quadruple shooting that left one dead.
What follows is a timeline of the incidents.
Tuesday, May 30, 5:15 p.m.
Officers responded to 1225 Norwood Road for a report of a male shot. Upon arrival, officers found a victim on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds to his legs. The 34-year-old victim was transported to University Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
An initial investigation has determined that the victim had been seen walking with an unknown male near an abandoned home. No arrests have been made and an investigation remains ongoing.
Tuesday, May 30, 7 p.m.
Officers responded to 3055 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive for a report of male shot. Upon arrival, officers found the victim found down on the steps of the vacant school with multiple gunshot wounds to his head.
Officers rendered aid to the victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene. No arrests have been made and an investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
Wednesday, May 31, 9 a.m.
Officers responded to 918 East 141st Street after a caller stated that somebody had been shot in their driveway. Upon arrival, the 44-year-old male victim was found in the driveway with multiple gunshot wounds.
After officers and EMS rendered aid, the victim was transported to UH, where he was pronounced dead.
A preliminary investigation indicated that the victim was shot by a male, who proceeded to drive off in a blue SUV. A 34-year-old male was later arrested in connection with the incident.
Wednesday, May 31, 11:30 p.m.
Officers responded to Eddy Road and St. Clair Avenue for a report of a vehicle crash. As officers were investigating the crash, a 27-year-old man drove his vehicle up to them and told the officers that he had been shot in the hand on East 123rd Street and that other people had also been shot. Officers rendered aid to the male victim and he was transported to UH via EMS.
Police units responded to the area of the 400 block of East 123rd Street, where additional victims were located. The additional victims were transported to UH, where a 31-year-old female who had been shot in the body was pronounced dead. She has since been identified as Shameka Lundy of Euclid. A 24-year-old female who had been shot in the leg and a 29-year-old male who had been shot in the leg were also injured in the incident.
A preliminary investigation has determined that the victims were hanging out at 423 East 123rd Street when unknown persons in a dark-colored vehicle drove by and fired shots at the group, striking all four victims. No arrests have been made and an investigation remains ongoing.
Thursday, June 1, 4 a.m.
Officers responded to 1075 E. 74th Street for a deceased woman in her 20s who had suffered gunshot wounds. She has been identified as 24-year-old Alexcia Byrd.
