$1 million bond set for man accused of killing woman at McDonald's in Sheffield Village

The shooting happened back on Jan. 6.

AVON LAKE, Ohio — 34-year-old James Kimbrough, the man accused of killing a woman earlier this year at a McDonald’s in Sheffield Village, was in Avon Lake Municipal Court to face a judge in the case Tuesday morning where bond was set at $1 million.

Kimbrough is due back in court for a preliminary hearing at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 27.

His arrest comes several months after the deadly shooting took place on Jan. 6.

Authorities say Kimbrough shot and killed a 24-year-old woman while she sat in the parking lot of the McDonald’s on Detroit Road.

The restaurant’s owner issued the following statement after the incident:  "We are devastated by the tragic loss of our team member and friend. Our hearts are with our employee's family and loved ones," House said at the time. "Nothing is more important than the safety of our people and customers, and we're working closely with law enforcement in their investigation."

Kimbrough was also named as a person of interest in at least two other "recent shootings" in the Lorain area, authorities noted.
