Summit County Prosecutor's Office: Kent man pleads guilty to child sexual exploitation crimes against 11-year-old girl

George Reed, 25, will be sentenced by a Summit County judge on December 18 after pleading guilty to three felony charges.

AKRON, Ohio — A 25-year-old Kent man has pled guilty to three felony charges related to his April arrest for child sexual exploitation.

According to the Summit County Prosecutor's Office, George Reed pleaded guilty to:

  • Gross sexual imposition – felony of the 3rd degree
  • Disseminating matter harmful to juveniles – felony of the 4th degree
  • Illegal use of a minor in nudity oriented material – felony of the 5th degree

On April 11, the Summit County Sheriff's Office says received information about a man who was sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl from the city of Green. The Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau began an investigation and discovered he had enticed the girl to meet him for sex.

In addition, investigators say the man sent the female sexually explicit photographs via Snapchat.  

On April 13, Reed was arrested and charged with disseminating matter harmful to juveniles and importuning He was booked into the Summit County Jail.

Reed will be sentenced by Summit County Judge Jennifer Towell on December 18.
