7-year-old boy 'seriously injured' after being struck by car in Akron: What police are saying

Police say that the driver remained on the scene and has been cooperative with officers.

AKRON, Ohio — A 7-year-old boy is in "critical condition" after being struck by a car in Akron

Akron police say the incident happened at around 5:52 p.m. on Thursday, July 11, at the intersection of Dahlgren Drive and Rosemary Boulevard.

According to police, an SUV was driving westbound on Rosemary Boulevard when the driver struck the boy who was crossing the street. 

The victim was unresponsive and taken to Akron Children's Hospital, where he is in critical condition. 

Police say that the driver remained on the scene and has been cooperative with officers. 

At this time, the incident is under investigation.
