CANTON, Ohio — The Canton Police Department has released surveillance video from a fatal hit-and-run incident that took place on Monday night.
A 66-year-old man in a wheelchair was fatally struck just after 8 p.m. in the 1000 block of Market Avenue North. Police say Horace Jones was traveling southbound on the roadway, in the northbound lane, when he was struck by the suspect vehicle.
Police say the suspect fled the scene, but the vehicle was later recovered by officers. Jones, of Canton, was unresponsive at the scene and later died at Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital, according to police.

The Canton Police Department Traffic Bureau is investigating the incident. Anybody with information about the incident is asked to call the Canton Police Communications Center at 330-649-5800. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
This is the second hit-and-run incident in Canton since last week when authorities say a 64-year-old man was struck on Tuscarawas Street West at Harrison Avenue.
