CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Division of Police is currently investigating a homicide that took place on the city's west side Tuesday afternoon.
Officials say the incident took place in the 2100 block of West 78th Street in the Detroit-Shoreway neighborhood.
The victim has since been identified as 38-year-old Carly M. Capek, of Cleveland, according to new details released Wednesday morning by the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office.
A 50-year-old man was arrested, but police have not released his name.
Police tell 3News it was around 12:45 p.m. when officers were called to the scene for a reported dispute.
"On arrival, officers found the front door open and a naked male sitting on a couch," according to new details released Wednesday morning by the Cleveland Police Department. "The female victim was found unresponsive and deceased in a bedroom with multiple injuries."
Police say the woman had multiple severe head and body injuries.
"Preliminary information indicates that multiple citizens called 911 for a male assaulting a female," police said.
Both the victim and suspect lived at the residence. Police say their relationship is unknown.
