Arrest warrant issued for man connected to woman's death on I-90 in Cleveland

Cleveland police told 3News that the suspect is currently in the custody of Lorain police after being arrested for a separate incident.

CLEVELAND — Cleveland police have confirmed to 3News that an arrest warrant has been issued for a man in connection to the death of a woman who fell out of a vehicle on I-90.

The suspect, 37-year-old Manuel Perez-Rios, is wanted for failure to stop after an accident resulting in death. 

Cleveland police told 3News that Perez-Rios is currently in the custody of Lorain police after being arrested for a separate incident.

The incident in Cleveland happened on Sunday, March 24, at around 12:04 a.m. on I-90 near West 44th Street. 

After receiving a call for a report of unknown trouble, officers found a woman who had fallen out of a moving vehicle for reasons that are yet to be determined. Cleveland police say the investigation is still ongoing. 

The victim, who has since been identified as Constance Mendiola, was pronounced dead at the scene.
