CLEVELAND — Cleveland police are investigating after a man was found dead in the street on Euclid Avenue just after midnight Friday, authorities said.
The incident took place on the 18100 block of Euclid Avenue near Cliffview Road. The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office identified the victim as Calvin Aldridge, 24.
Aldridge's cause of death was ruled as "blunt impacts to head with skull and brain injuries."
According to a Cleveland Division of Police spokesperson, officers responded to a call reporting a person had been shot at approximately 12:10 a.m.
"Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim lying in the street, indicating the victim potentially was struck by a vehicle," the police spokesperson said.
Aldridge was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said the car that may have hit Aldridge was not present at the scene by the time officers arrived.
The investigation is ongoing.
