CLEVELAND — The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) arrested a suspect wanted for a murder in Buffalo who was hiding out in Cleveland on Tuesday.
Ja'Vair Walker, 20, is wanted by the Buffalo Police Department for a murder that occurred back in August of 2021 where a female was shot and killed while riding inside of a vehicle. The warrant for Walker was issued one week ago.
After the warrant was issued, investigators learned of the possibility that Walker had fled the state of New York and was potentially hiding in Northeast Ohio.
Upon additional investigations, a home in the 3800 block of West 136th Street turned up as a possible hiding spot for Walker.
On Tuesday afternoon, members of the NOVFTF moved in on the house and located Walker, where he was arrested without incident.
Walker is currently being held in the Cuyahoga County Jail until he can be extradited back to Buffalo, New York.
"This is the second murder suspect arrested in the city of Cleveland in less than nine hours, the NOVFTF is doing everything they can to keep the community safe from violent fugitives." said U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott in a statement.
