CLEVELAND — A woman was killed after her car veered into a traffic barrier on I-90 in Cleveland overnight Sunday, police said.
A Cleveland police sergeant confirmed that the 55-year-old woman was driving eastbound on I-90 at around 2:45 a.m. Sunday when her car veered out of the lane for "unknown reasons." The car collided head-on into a jersey barrier before being forced off the roadway and up an embankment where it hit a fence.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. According to the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office, the woman was identified as 55-year-old Mary Heise.
Cleveland police are currently investigating the cause of the crash.
