A 45-year-old Oberlin woman is dead following a crash Friday, according to details released by authorities Monday morning.
According to the North Olmsted Police Department, the woman was driving a Jeep westbound on I-480 near the Stearns and Lorain Road exit in the right lane.
Authorities say the driver “was observed driving at a high rate of speed in the right lane” before suddenly changing lanes and sideswiping another vehicle.
Moments after losing control, police say the Jeep collided with the center median, flipped and rolled several times.
The woman was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle did not have any reported injuries, authorities said.
The situation remains under investigation.
