PARMA, Ohio — Editor's Note: The above video aired on March 17, 2021
A vigil and balloon release was held Thursday night for Timoteo "Tim" Cruz at the Justice Center. Cruz, a Cuyahoga County Corrections officer, was one of two victims of a fatal shooting in Parma last weekend
A similar vigil for Cruz and Michael Acirno was held on Tuesday at Parma's Rookie Sports Bar & Grill, where the two were shot and killed early Saturday morning.
Michael Acierno and Timoteo "Tim" Cruz both died at the scene during the incident. Cruz, an off-duty Cuyahoga County corrections officer working as a security guard for the bar, apparently risked his own life by firing his own weapon at the suspects after Acierno was shot first.
Two suspects, Luis Carlos Candelario and Juan Carlos Perez, are currently in custody for the murders of both Acierno and Cruz. It was not specified who may have fired the shots at each victim.

Besides members of the community, deputies from the Cuyahoga County Sheriff's Office were among those lighting candles at Rookies on Tuesday, and several friends and family members spoke to those in attendance.
