The Mentor Police Department has announced that it has identified the suspect wanted for a drive-by shooting that injured two people last Friday.
38-year-old Darold L. Hoyle of Cleveland Heights has been charged with two counts of Attempted Murder, two counts of Felonious Assault, and one count of Improperly Discharging a Firearm at or into a Habitation.
Hoyle was arraigned on Monday at Mentor Municipal Court and is currently being held at the Lake County Jail.
Officials responded to a residence in the 1800 block of Puritan Drive just after 5:30 a.m. on Friday morning for reports of gunfire.
At the scene, officers found 27-year-old James Brooks and 23-year-old Taylor George suffering gunshot wounds to their lower bodies. The injures were not life-threatening, but they were transported by Mentor Fire to Hillcrest Hospital for treatment.
No additional information is available on their conditions.
Both victims were inside the residence at the time the shooting and police believe it was a targeted incident.
The shooting remains under investigation.
